Acting: Beginning through advanced studies in the Stanislovsky method, including sensory and affective memory, listening and relaxation skills, with character development, stage direction, dialogue preparation and performance experience.
Voice: Care and preservation, vocal mechanics, breath support and control, pitch and tone, notation, exercise techniques with extensive performance experience.
Music: Students study every aspect of music, including theory and performance. They have the opportunity to write and produce original vocal and instrumental compositions. They participate in the entire recording process, including post production and publication.
Dance: Introduction to dance, with an academic study of the history of dance and its application to our musical theater productions.
Instrumentation: Introduction to a wide range of instruments, with studies in composition, history, and presentation, including lessons in guitar, piano, and drums.
Technical: Hands-on classes in set construction, lighting, sound, and stage management. Students work with tools and make practical use of the theater's tech booth.
Writing: A study of the literary tools necessary to develop characters, story lines, and dialogue. Students research notable playwrights, and have direct input into each season's production script.
Portfolios: As a member of the theater's resident cast, actors develop their professional portfolio by receiving instruction in: makeup, hair, modeling, package design, resumes, and by taking part in a complete photo shoot.
Curtain Call Theatre Inc. is a true school of the performing arts. Teaching is conducted in a small group setting. It is personal and designed to meet the needs of individuals who comprise each class. Students who enroll in in our program, enroll in a real theater where they are taught by certified teachers, a curriculum that is complete and appropriate for today's performers. Its lessons prepare actors for: stage, screen, and film.
